5 Ways To Maximise Your Social Media Influencer Marketing Efforts:

Engaging with influential members of your industry is a must if you want to advance your online presence in today’s competitive environment. Do you use Facebook or Twitter? Have you ever considered buying followers? Are we to assume that you have made very little progress? Right. Quite simply, it serves no useful purpose. Love and commitment aren’t commodities that can be purchased.

Instead of trying to reach everyone in your target market, you narrow your attention to influential individuals. It pinpoints the decision-makers among your prospective customers.

Here are some of my best recommendations to ensure that your strategy succeeds, whether your goal is to promote your own name or the name of the company you work for.

1. Where do you start looking?

Make extensive use of social networking sites for in-depth social monitoring. Remember what the great Alfred Brendel said… It’s true that “LISTEN” and “SILENT” share the same letters.

Spend some time alone doing focused reading and research. If you read a lot of articles and want to align yourself with people who are considered ‘thought leaders,’ you should find out which ones receive the most feedback and reach out to the authors of those pieces via social media. This is the kind of audience you want to be seeing and hearing about your profile changes, brand ideas, and blog posts.

2. To adopt an authoritative mindset.

Imagine that you are one of the influential people whose path you have just crossed.

Consider what might encourage them to spread the word about your work. Think about what they want to achieve. They have a vested interest in being recognised as influential leaders in their field and would like to see their influence grow.

You all know what happened to interflora, so financial compensation is not recommended. Sending bloggers bouquets of flowers is not the best strategy…. Pay close attention to the non-monetary interests of influential people.

How then can you win them over?

3. A Recognizable Thank You

Locate a pivotal opinion leader and make contact with them. WARNING: Don’t start by asking them to share your content. The first step is to find the person and give them your attention. Make contact by responding to one of their blog posts or LinkedIn updates.

4. Acknowledgement

Having done so, you should then recognise them by actively sharing their work in your own Social Media communications, as I mentioned in the next tip.

5. The Social Aspect

Last but not least, make an effort to broaden your network of influential people. The success you find in Influencer Marketing depends on your social abilities. Build trust with your new influential friend so that they can vouch for you and you can do the same for them among their followers. Oh, and before I wrap up my thoughts for the day, it should go without saying that you should show your appreciation to anyone who has shared your content.
